Sebastian Coe Charitable Golf Day

Last week Birdie supported a fabulous day at the inaugural Sebastian Coe Charitable Foundation Golf Day held at The Grove Hotel & Golf Club just outside London. A perfect back drop to 18 holes of challenging but enjoyable golf.

Our Birdie 4-ball won on the style stakes in our matching white pure cotton polo shirts with lilac torso stripe.  Although a warm sunny day, on a couple of holes the sun disappeared, so on went our coordinating merino wool lilac V neck jumpers, a perfect combination and still rocking the Birdie on course look!

The 13th hole proved very popular as generously filled glasses of  champagne provided by  Laurent Perrier were served. This helped fortify everyone until we regrouped for lunch and a glass of rose.   Without the need to change our chic Birdie Polo shirts and/or Merino jumpers ensured we were first at the bar. After lunch a raffle and auction, kindly sponsored by Audemars Piguet and Elegant Resorts, helped raise a grand total of over £40,000 for the Foundation and it’s chosen charity Greenhouse Sports, who do an incredible job using sports coaching and mentoring to engage and improve life chances of young people. We heard from Lord Coe, and fellow guests sporting heroes Sean Fitzpatrick, Steve Cram and Daley Thompson who all shared some great and amusing stories.

With the Birdie team coming 7th overall, we were convinced that our stylish outfits enhanced our performance, and we were delighted to see so many guests heading home with a Birdie purchase of their own.
